How it works
Our Chit Chats U.S. Economy Tracked Service uses our partnerships with USPS to get shipments into the hands of your customers for less. Chit Chats will process your shipment and release it to USPS who handles the final delivery of the shipment to your customer.
Chit Chats U.S. Economy Tracked is designed specifically for your lighter shipments (up to 15 lbs) and postage is determined by the weight, dimensions and destination of the shipment. The service is optimized for parcels or shipments packaged in thick envelopes and may not be suitable for letters or cards. Dimensional weight may apply.
Due to the transportation methods of this carrier, there may be limitations on what can be shipped. Please familiarize yourself with the restrictions specific to this carrier before shipping.

All Chit Chats U.S. Economy Tracked shipments include full tracking, from the moment we receive your shipment to when it is delivered to your recipient. Delivery confirmation is included when USPS delivers the package. Tracking updates can be found by following your Chit Chats tracking in your Chit Chats account or by following the carrier tracking.
You want to insure your shipments
This service is eligible for full coverage Chit Chats Insurance available through our platform. Adding insurance to your Chit Chats U.S. Economy Tracked shipments is quick, affordable and easy.
You want to lower your shipping costs
Our Chit Chats U.S. Economy Tracked service takes the guesswork out of which option to use for your U.S. shipments. When you see Chit Chats U.S. Economy Tracked, you’ll know that you have the best low-cost option for your shipment. You also have the option to add Chit Chats Insurance if your shipment is eligible with all rates displayed in CAD.
You don’t mind a longer transit time
Shipments have slightly longer transit times than our U.S. Tracked service or other USPS options. However, you can still expect to see U.S. delivery times comparable to national carriers.

You need to manage return shipments
Your Chit Chats Economy Tracked returns can be easily managed by Chit Chats if you’ve submitted a returns POA. Or if you prefer, you can manage your own returns with a custom U.S. return address.
How to Access Chit Chats U.S. Economy Tracked Postage
Chit Chats U.S. Economy Tracked is offered to select regions in the U.S. to help you find a cheaper rate. Simply create shipments as you would normally and if your shipment is eligible, Chit Chats U.S. Economy Tracked will be listed as an available postage option in the “Postage” step. This postage type is available for shipments up to 15 lbs.
If you import your shipments or use our API, make sure you indicate chit_chats_us_economy_tracked in the postage_type field. To ensure you never miss out on the cheapest postage rate for your shipment, you can indicate "unknown' for your postage type along with the field cheapest_postage_type_requested.
Getting your shipments to us
As with all of the shipment types we accept, your Chit Chats U.S. Economy Tracked packages must be sorted upon their arrival at Chit Chats. You should sort your Economy Tracked shipments alongside any U.S. Tracked or USPS shipments you may be dropping off. We want to ensure your parcel is sorted correctly to avoid potential delays and we cannot be responsible for any shipments that are brought to us unsorted or packaged incorrectly.
If you batch your shipments, multiple carrier types may be in the same batch however, the physical shipments must be sorted by carrier.
