The program is co-administered by Meslee Insurance Services and backed by Navigators Insurance Company (HUB International and Hartford Fire Insurance Company in Canada). 

Once you have filed a claim for a shipment, you can check the status of your claim to see the progress or to upload additional information.

Chit Chats Insurance Claims

To check on the status of an open claim, click on the shipment in your Chit Chats account. Click the ‘File a claim’ link as you did when the claim was filed. You can also go directly to our insurer's website to check the status of a claim. You will need to know your recipient’s zip/postal code and shipment ID (Chit Chats ID or carrier tracking are both accepted).

This will take you to the status page for the claims submission. You can find the progress of your claim under Overview or by checking the status at the top of the page.

You can directly communicate with you assigned agent under the Communication tab. Any previous and pending messaging will be found there as well.

If you are required to provide supporting documentation, the status of your claim will change to ‘Waiting on Documents’. You may also receive a notification from your assigned Insurer requesting this information. You can upload the required documents directly on the Cabrella-Chit Chats website. You will also have access to a chat feature where you will be able to contact your agent directly if you have any inquiries. Often you will be required to provide recipient contact details like email addresses or phone numbers in order for your claim to be reviewed.

You can also create a log-in and account if you wish to do so. This will keep all your previous claims grouped together so you can access them all in one place. If you have created a log-in after you have submitted multiple claims and would like to have them grouped together, please contact Cabrella either via your dashboard on the Cabrella-Chit Chats website or via email at Info@cabrella.com.

Note: The Insured will have one (1) year from the date postage was purchased to provide any required and/or additional documentation which has been requested of the Insured to substantiate said claim. In the case that required and/or additional documentation which has been requested goes ninety (90) days with no document submission will result in denial of the claim. Claim can be reopened upon submission of requested documents if documents are submitted within one (1) year from the date postage was purchased. Failure to provide the required and/or additional documentation within one (1) year from the postage purchase date will result in the denial of the claim.

Chit Chats Canada Tracked Claims

Claims for Chit Chats Canada Tracked shipments can take up to 90 days to be processed. We will provide you a status update every 45 days or earlier if the carrier provides updates sooner. 

Carrier Claims

Aside from Chit Chats Canada Tracked shipments and courier pickups, we are unable to check the status of a carrier insurance claim on your behalf. To check the status of your claim you will need to contact the carrier directly. You may be asked for your tracking number or claim reference number.
