How to correctly add a Country of Origin (COO) label to your products

You are required to include a physical Country of Origin marker on all items in a shipment bound for the United States, no exceptions. This can be with a tag attached to the item or a sticker indicating the COO. Handwriting the Country of Origin, is NOT allowed. For more information, consult the resource below

How to provide proof of your product's Country of Origin

If requested, Chit Chats or CBP may ask for proof of the Country of Origin (COO) for your products. The following proofs are not to be used in lieu of the physical country of origin marking on the item. It’s highly recommended that you include relevant supporting documentation with your shipments that clearly defends the Country of Origin markings on your products.

For sellers of collectibles or other unique products, it is your responsibility to determine the Country of Origin of the products you intend to ship across the border and ensure the necessary supporting documentation is available for CBP to review if requested. In the case of collectibles, we advise contacting the manufacturer directly, as many items may not have the Country of Origin listed on their packaging. Taking these steps will help ensure compliance and smooth processing of your shipments.
