If you have yet to purchase postage for your shipment, you may want to check out what postage expired means.
The following postage types purchased on the Chit Chats Platform will expire if unused:
- USPS
- Chit Chats U.S. Select
- Chit Chats U.S. Edge
- Chit Chats International Tracked
- Chit Chats Canada Tracked
- Chit Chats Select
All other postage types may be mailed at any point after their creation. However, we may automatically refund the postage for your older shipments.
The date you may see on some postage labels is called the mailing date and it is used to indicate to the carrier when you plan on mailing your shipment. This differs from the postmark date which marks when the postal service accepts your shipment and cancels your postage so that it cannot be reused.
To ensure your postage is never stale-dated, postage created on the Chit Chats platform has a mailing date of up to seven days more than the ship date you indicate you will get your shipment to us.
To avoid potential delays or issues with your shipment's delivery, it is best to ship your package as close to the ship date as possible. If several days have passed and you still plan to send your shipment, we recommend refunding and creating new postage for the shipment.
Note: You will have 28 days from the time of postage creation to request a refund for USPS, Chit Chats U.S. Edge and Chit Chats U.S. Select postage and 7 days for Chit Chats Canada Tracked and Chit Chats International Tracked postage. Chit Chats Select postage is automatically refunded to your account after 30 days if the postage is unused. It may take up to 20 business days for our partner carriers to approve any refund requests.
