Some accounts may have encountered an error when fulfilling orders from connected stores. To resolve the issue, please reconnect your store in your settings following the steps outlined below. If you continue to experience issues connecting your store or fulfilling orders, please contact us for assistance. 

You can set up your Chit Chats account to import your orders from ShipStation in just 4 easy steps saving you time and effort when creating your shipments. Our ShipStation integration supports connecting multiple ShipStation accounts. Find all of our store integration options here.

  1. Make sure you are logged in to your ShipStation account.
  2. Log in to your Chit Chats account and navigate to your Settings (bottom left). Click on Sales Channels > Connect ShipStation. Or click on Import (top left) > Connect a Store > Connect ShipStation.
    1. You can disconnect your store in the same manner. Settings > Sales Channels > Remove
  3. Follow the link to your ShipStation API settings page to generate your API Key and API Secret. Note: If you are regenerating your API Key, this action will invalidate your previous key and cannot be undone.
  4. Copy your Key and Secret to your Chit Chats settings, give your store a nickname (optional) and click Save.

Congratulations! You have just integrated your ShipStation account with Chit Chats. You’re now ready to import orders from your store with the click of a button.

Integrating your store will not display live Chit Chats shipping rates to your customers but many Chit Chats clients find it helpful to create standard shipping rates for their items based on our pricing. If you experience difficulty with connecting your account, please contact us with your client ID.

Shipment Fulfillment 

ShipStation does not currently support Chit Chats tracking. This means that our tracking updates are not recognized. You will need to mark orders as shipped from within your ShipStation account when using Chit Chats tracking.

Another option is to change your shipment fulfillment settings to send Carrier tracking. 

You can do this by going to: Settings > Sales Channels > Shipment Fulfillment > Carrier Tracking

This sends carrier tracking updates (when available) and marks your orders as shipped in all of your connected stores in ShipStation.

If you would like to see this change in the future, we recommend submitting a request for Chit Chats integration on ShipStation's website.

Import orders older than 3 months  

If your business makes use of pre-sales or sells items in advance, there might be instances where you need to import orders older than 30 days old. You have the flexibility to import orders beyond this timeframe and even choose the specific date from which to import orders. This feature facilitates smoother pre-sales management. To utilize this functionality, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Sales Channels > ShipStation Store 

  1. Click Edit 

  1. Enter the date that you would like to import from. (Leaving the field blank will only import orders from the last 30 days)

  2. Click Update

  3. Orders from the chosen ‘import from’ date will be imported accordingly.
