The pandemic has caused unprecedented delays with shipping and our partner carriers are experiencing significant delays in transit times. Due to limited transportation availability and increased safety measures most carriers have removed any service guarantees. Delivery times are always estimated and never guaranteed. We strongly suggest advising your customers of these delays accordingly.
Whether you are a Chit Chats client or the recipient of a shipment, you can always find tracking information on the Chit Chats tracking portal using the shipment ID. Learn more about how to search our tracking portal.
For tracked U.S. shipments, you can also check for tracking updates directly on our partner carrier's website. All you will need is the carrier tracking number to search on the carrier’s tracking page.
Where to find the carrier tracking number
On our tracking portal
- Search for your shipment on our tracking portal using the shipment ID.
- Once the shipment is released to the partner carrier, the carrier tracking number will be displayed in the tracking update.
If you don’t see a carrier tracking number, the shipment may not include carrier tracking.
In your Chit Chats Account
- Log into your Chit Chats account and locate the shipment.
- The partner carrier and carrier tracking number will be displayed in the postage column after postage has been purchased for the shipment.
- Alternatively, click on the shipment. A link to the carrier tracking will be available in the right sidebar.
Accessing carrier tracking pages
Service and postage type availability may vary. Timestamps for carrier tracking events may differ from the timestamps displayed on the Chit Chats tracking portal as carrier tracking events may not be displayed in your time zone.
Chit Chats U.S. Tracked
All Chit Chats U.S. Tracked shipments are fully tracked with delivery confirmation by USPS, our partner carrier. Find tracking updates directly on USPS’s tracking page by searching with the carrier tracking number.
You can receive direct updates from the partner carrier for any tracked shipments by searching the carrier tracking number directly on USPS’s tracking page. You can also subscribe to email and text alerts to be notified of tracking updates for your shipment.
Please note that full tracking with delivery confirmation is included for some but not all USPS postage types on the Chit Chats platform. Tracking is not included for USPS First Class Mail shipments (postcards, letters & flat envelopes).
UPS Mail Innovations (UPS MI)
UPS MI is a partnership between UPS and the USPS. The carrier tracking number can be used to track the shipment on both carrier's tracking pages.
After Chit Chats releases the shipment to UPS MI the shipment will move to the next sorting facility within UPS's network. Once the package gets to a facility near the destination, the shipment will be handed over to USPS who handles the final delivery to your customer.
UPS handles the start of the shipment and tracking updates can be found by going directly to UPS's tracking page. Once the shipment is received by the post office tracking updates can be found on both UPS' tracking page and USPS’s tracking page.
The Chit Chats tracking portal will update tracking events from both partner carriers until the package is delivered.
