In addition to our Canadian and U.S. shipping options, Chit Chats is proud to offer economical postage options for businesses to the following countries with our Chit Chats International Tracked service.
Please beware of current country suspensions due to weather and other transportation challenges with updates on our Service Delays blog. International shipments involve multiple carriers and the additional link provided can help you find more tracking details depending on the country. Please note that this list is not exhaustive.
* Shipments where duties have been prepaid and a customs tax reference number is supplied will not require the recipient to pay for additional duties.
Notes on International Shipping
Before sending your first international shipments, make sure to do your research. There can be nuances for these shipments as they pass through various customs checkpoints in different countries with different methods for handling.
Prohibited Items
You should know that there are items that Chit Chats is unable to ship and other items that specific countries do not allow the import of. Additionally, our partner carriers for international shipments have set their own standards for prohibited and restricted items based on their transport methods.
Address Formatting
Each country has their own set of rules for how you should format a delivery address. Buying postage in your Chit Chats account eliminates much of the guesswork but it’s best to double-check the address with your recipient and the formatting rules in the destination country.
International Customs
Shipments bound for international destinations may be subject to customs inspections, customs duties and taxes. For example, shipments to Australia which exceed $1000 AUD may require formal customs clearance which is subject to additional fees.
All Chit Chats International Tracked shipments are considered as merchandise on customs declarations and are not suitable postage options for gifts.
HS codes are required Chit Chats International Tracked shipments. Find useful resources on HS codes on our blog. Adding an HS code makes the customs process easier and minimizes potential delays to your shipment’s transit.
Tracking & Delivery
You can track your shipment on our tracking portal using your shipment ID or carrier tracking number on the carrier's tracking page. Our international partner carrier, PostNL, also provides a secondary tracking number which can be used to find your shipment on the tracking page for the postal operator in the destination country (see above table). If there is a complication with the delivery of your shipment, the carrier in the destination country may try to contact the recipient by phone number to confirm any details required for delivery or to notify of any outstanding duties or taxes.
Returns
Due to the complicated nature of transporting international return shipments, return service is unavailable for Chit Chats International Tracked.
