Importing Orders

eBay clients should take advantage of either the bulk editor tool or shipping presets feature to update their shipment information. Importing orders uses the order item's selling price as the customs amount. Reference this support article for the correct formatting of IOSS or VAT custom numbers. If you choose to provide the recipient phone numbers, they will be automatically imported.

Importing HS Codes & Country of Origin

eBay doesn't have a default field to enter HS codes and country of origin but you can use custom attributes to easily add this information. For each listing complete the following steps:

Under item specifics select the 'show more' link

Select the '+Ad custom item specific' button to create a new custom attribute

Enter the details for a new custom attribute called 'HS Code' and provide the value. Other acceptable attribute names include 'hs code', 'hs_code' and 'hs_code'.

Create another custom attribute, however this time for country of origin. Please note : 'country_of_origin' and 'country-of-origin' are all acceptable formats. Using different characters can result in errors.

Item listings should appear as below, with appropriate values for both custom attributes. Once the attributes have been created on the listing, values can be edited if needed.

Once the orders have been retrieved through your eBay store (no need to disconnect and reconnect), any orders with line items will show the HS Code and Origin Country values that came from your eBay order as shown below.

Import orders older than 3 months

If your business makes use of pre-sales or sells items in advance, there might be instances where you need to import orders older than 30 days old. You have the flexibility to import orders beyond this timeframe and even choose the specific date from which to import orders. This feature facilitates smoother pre-sales management. To utilize this functionality, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Sales Channels > eBay Store
  2. Click Edit
  3. Enter the date that you would like to import from. (Leaving the field blank will only import orders from the last 30 days)
  4. Click Update
  5. Orders from the chosen ‘import from’ date will be imported accordingly.

Fulfilling eBay Orders with Chit Chats

Once you have paid for postage, you will be provided with the partner carrier’s tracking number. By default, this number will be used when fulfilling the tracking for your eBay orders.

If you would prefer to fulfill your orders with Chit Chats tracking you will need to manually add the Chit Chats shipment ID to orders in your eBay account. Using Chit Chats tracking provides your customers with more detailed tracking events for their shipments. And because eBay recognizes Chit Chats tracking, your customers will receive notification that their order has shipped as soon as we scan a shipment in one of our branches. Troubleshooting

Integrating your store will not display live Chit Chats shipping rates to your customers but many Chit Chats clients find it helpful to create standard shipping rates for their items based on our pricing

In some cases you may see an eBay Authorization Error while connecting your store. Please try removing and connecting your eBay store again as this should resolve the issue.

If you experience further difficulty with connecting your account, please contact us with your client ID.
