Due to limited transportation availability and increased safety measures most carriers have removed any service guarantees. Delivery times are always estimated and never guaranteed. We strongly suggest advising your customers of these delays accordingly.

The delivery of an international shipment requires the cooperation of several carriers and agencies throughout its journey. This is why it is important to format delivery addresses correctly.

Our international partner carriers provide transit through the U.S. and overseas. As such, there may be delays in tracking updates as shipments depart North America. Shipments then must clear international customs in the transit and destination countries before they are handed off to the local postal authority in the destination country. 

The local postal authority handles the final delivery and may notify the recipient of any outstanding taxes or duties for the shipment. For example, the local postal authority in the U.K. is Royal Mail, and in Germany this is Deutsche Post.

We strongly advise following your shipment's delivery through each carrier and postal authority’s website for the most current tracking information by using your carrier tracking number. For example, you may follow the transit of a shipment to Germany from the Chit Chats Tracking to Asendia and Swiss Post then finally Deutsche Post’s tracking.

Where to find the carrier tracking number

On our tracking portal

  1. Search for your shipment on our portal using your shipment ID.
  2. Once your shipment has been released to the carrier, your tracking will be updated with the carrier tracking number.

In your Chit Chats Account

  1. Log into your Chit Chats account and locate the shipment
  2. Look under the Postage tab. The carrier and tracking number will be shown here after you have purchased postage for the shipment.
  3. Alternatively, click on the shipment. A link to the carrier tracking will be available in the right sidebar.

Service and postage type availability may vary. Please note that carrier tracking events may not be displayed in your timezone. For this reason, timestamps for carrier tracking events may differ from timestamps for Chit Chats tracking events. 

Chit Chats International Standard

Our non-tracked, low-cost international postage option does not include carrier tracking. Only Chit Chats tracking is available for this service. A carrier tracking number will not be issued. Once the shipment is released to our international partner carrier, there will be no further tracking updates. Final delivery is handled by the local postal carrier in the destination country.

Asendia International

Asendia’s services are provided in collaboration with a network of carriers including USPS and SwissPost. You can search for tracking updates directly from Asendia by using your carrier tracking number on Asendia's tracking website.

Here you will find your secondary carrier tracking number which will link to either USPS or Swiss Post, depending on the country.

For the most up to date tracking information for your shipment, you can follow the link or search your secondary carrier tracking number on the carrier website.

Final mile delivery for Asendia shipments is handled by the local postal authority in the destination country. Your secondary carrier tracking number can also be used to search on the postal authority’s tracking page. For example, Royal Mail:

The Chit Chats tracking for your shipment will update with tracking events from all carriers up until final delivery. The shipper or the recipient may be contacted by the local postal authority via email or card to confirm details required for the delivery of the shipment.

USPS International

You can receive updates on your tracked shipments by using your tracking number to search directly on USPS’s tracking page.

Please note that full tracking with delivery confirmation is included for some but not all USPS International postage types offered on the Chit Chats platform. Delivery confirmation is not included for USPS First Class Mail International shipments (postcards, letters & flat envelopes). Delivery confirmation is included for USPS First Class Package International shipments for select countries.

Accessing destination country tracking

To find tracking information for your shipment once it is in the destination country, please head to the local postal authority’s tracking site. You can find a list of international postal authorities here.
